Jesse Thomas Brown
Welcome

Dear Friends, Welcome to my website.  Please stay as long as you like.  Jesse.

May 4, 2012 - When my dear friend informed me yesterday that she was in New Orleans for the Jazz & Heritage Festival, I decided this would be a good time to salute the Crescent City by sharing with you a video of my song "Lights of New Orleans".  It's taken from a concert I did on January 7th of this year.  I wrote the song in 2005 about a riverboat pilot returning to the Mississippi for the first time after the American Civil War.  It was written primarily as a tribute to my hero Mark Twain.  The video can be viewed here at the website : http://www.jessethomasbrown.com/video  or at the direct Youtube link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RPJDW93gnY
A studio version of the song was released on my 2008 album "Tanglewood", and can be heard at the music section of this website, or purchased at various online retailers, including iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/tanglewood/id302173391
& CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/jessethomasbrown
I hope you enjoy the song.

April 23, 2012 - Well April 23rd has rolled around again, which means it's my birthday.  In celebration of this admittedly common event, I've posted a video of my performance of "Ellis Island" from my January 7th concert.  I wrote the song in 2007 as a compassionate statement about the plight of modern-day immigrants, and released it on my 2008 album "Tanglewood".  Today it's dedicated to my Great Grandma & Grandpa Andal who passed through Ellis Island when they first came to America.  If you'd like to view the video, it can be seen here at the website: http://www.jessethomasbrown.com/video
or at the direct Youtube link here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugxSBKvLZaA
If you're interested in hearing the album version of the song, it can be heard in the "Music" section of the website, or purchased at various online retailers,
including iTunes:  http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/tanglewood/id302173391
& CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/jessethomasbrown
I hope you enjoy the song as well as your own April 23rd.  Jesse.

March 6, 2012 - Good Morning Friends, Since today sees the release of Bruce Springsteen's new album, I'd like to share a video of my own performance of Springsteen's classsic song "Highway Patrolman", from my concert in January.  The song originally comes from his hauntingly beautiful Nebraska album.  It's a tragic song about family and duty, and as I sang it, I was nearly moved to tears by the beauty of Springsteen's words.  I hope you enjoy it.  Now I'm off to buy his new album.  You can view my performance on my website here:  www.jessethomasbrown.com/video
or at the direct Youtube link here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z2T926coPo

Jan. 31, 2012 - Hi Friends, Today Leonard Cohen releases "Old Ideas", his first studio album since 2004.  In celebration of this, I have uploaded a new video of me performing Cohen's classic "Famous Blue Raincoat" from my concert on January 7th.  If you'd like to hear the original, I encourage you to pick up Cohen's 1971 album, "Songs of Love and Hate".
My version can be heard at these two links.

Jan. 22, 2012 - Hi Friends, Being that's it's Sunday morning, I've uploaded a youtube video of my performance of Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", from my concert on January 7th, 2012.  I hope you enjoy it.  I know it's not anywhere near as good as the original.   jessethomasbrown.com/video  or  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWXGoR9O_H8

Nov. 28, 2011 - Well Friends, it's that time of year again, which means it's time for me to dust off my festive if somewhat inappropriate holiday song "Merry Christmas Jameson's Irish Whiskey."  From now until the end of December, the song can be downloaded for free as an MP3 in the
Free Downloads section of the website.  It can also be played at this youtube link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGvcTdrnllI&feature=feedu  It's probably only right that I warn you first that there is Adult content in the song.  I hope you enjoy.  Happy Holidays All.
